Swan & Fox To Bring Chinese Regional Cuisine With French Technique To San Diego's North County

March 26, 2024

Two chefs who formerly cooked in the kitchen at San Diego's three-Michelin-star Addison are opening a regional Chinese food restaurant with French-influence in San Diego's North County.

Chefs Nicholas Webber and Jacob Jordan sharpened their skills at several fine dining restaurants, including Southern California's only three-Michelin star restaurant Addison in Del Mar, before branching off on their own to launch a Chinese pop-up series dubbed 24 Suns. Although they initially set out to start a Dim Sum food truck, the duo has recently taken over Angelina's Bar and Grill in Oceanside and will soon convert the sports bar to become Swan & Fox restaurant.

Anticipated to open this summer, Swan & Fox will offer a menu of Chinese cuisine from various regions prepared with French technique, complimented by craft cocktails from Ed & Sunny Sanderson's IRS Cocktails. Expect dishes like clam rangoons, Japanese milk bread with ginseng pink peppercorn butter, smoked lamb rack cured in fermented black bean, Aka yi mein noodles with duck ragu. The restaurant will also eventually introduce a sister take-out concept dubbed Pagoda, that will serve value-oriented Chinese-American dishes like fried rice, orange chicken, and beef with broccoli.

Swan & Fox is expected to open mid-2024 at 3375 Mission Avenue, Suite J, in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside.
