Taco Bell Launching Luxurious "Retirement Community" Experience In San Diego This Summer

July 9, 2024

Irvine-based fast food giant Taco Bell is launching "The Cantinas," a pop-up experience coming to San Diego this August where fans can live like a retiree for a weekend.

Taco Bell is offering its rewards members a unique opportunity to unwind with an "early retirement experience." Coming to San Diego this August is The Cantinas, a Taco Bell-themed retirement community designed for relaxation and enjoyment.

"There’s a common misconception that retirement unlocks the life you've been waiting for," said Taylor Montgomery, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer of Taco Bell. "And while that may be true for some, we don’t think you should have to wait until 55 to live the life you’re craving. The Cantinas early retirement community, just like our brand, represents a place where all generations can come together, regardless of age, to Live their Más however they want."
The Cantinas early retirement community claims to embody Taco Bell’s philosophy of living life to the fullest, welcoming patrons to embrace a relaxed lifestyle. This limited-time experience, scheduled for August 17-18, is particularly geared towards Gen Z members aged 21 and over, rather than traditional retirees. The exact location remains undisclosed, but it is in San Diego, advertised as being approximately 30 minutes from the San Diego International Airport.

Starting at noon EST on July 16, Taco Bell will offer day passes for $50 and weekend memberships for $150 to its reward members. A day pass includes access for the ticket holder and a guest to the community’s grounds, recreational activities, dining options, and more. The weekend membership offers all the benefits of the day pass plus overnight accommodations.

Taco Bell promises to reveal more details about the experience soon. This initiative follows a similar venture by the chain in 2019 when it launched a temporary hotel in Palm Springs.

The best way to get tickets for The Cantinas is to be ready to "buy now" at TheCantinas.net, as well as being a member of the free-to-enroll Taco Bell Rewards
