Grant Hill's Todo Pa La Cruda Mexican restaurant is taking over the longtime Salud Tacos space in San Diego's historic Barrio Logan community.
Elizabeth Ruiz, whose family moved from Acapulco to San Diego in the early 1990s, launched Todo Pa' La Cruda Mexican restaurant on Imperial Avenue in San Diego's Grant Hill in 2020. The restaurant’s culinary roots run deep. Ruiz’s mother, Doña Antonia, who once cooked for celebrities and dignitaries in Mexico, continues to train the chefs in her time-honored recipes.
Ruiz recently signed a five year lease for the corner unit space that long housed Salud Tacos, which abruptly shuttered this past June after nearly a decade in business in Barrio Logan. The new Todo Pa' La Cruda will open within the next week. The interior of the former Salud space will largely remain unchanged, preserving the custom murals, but with a few added homey touches.
True to its name, which means "everything for the hangover," Todo Pa' La Cruda will offer an all-day menu featuring hearty dishes such as menudo, caldo de mariscos, and scratch-made pozole verde. The menu also includes pescado frito, chile relleno con queso, shrimp aguachile, mole chilaquiles, and birria, along with a variety of tacos and burritos. The restaurant will also serve beer and wine.
Todo Pa' La Cruda will open soon at 2196 Logan Avenue in San Diego's historic Barrio Logan. For more information, visit todopalacruda.com.
