American Junkie, already a staple in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter since 2017, offers a quintessential American menu featuring items like wings, pizzas, tacos, and sliders, alongside an extensive selection of craft beers, cocktails, and wines. Known for its patriotic ethos, the brand incorporates reclaimed pieces of American history into its interior design and sources 95% of its products domestically. The company also operates a branch in Hermosa Beach.
Liquor license records indicate the establishment will take over the Garnet Avenue space currently home to Union Kitchen & Tap, which opened in early 2024. Like its Gaslamp counterpart, the new American Junkie is expected to feature numerous TVs for sports viewing and transition into a high-energy nightlife venue complete with DJs and dancing in the evenings.
The new site, led by owners Joshua Dunn, Joshua Royal, and Mark Buehler, will occupy a location that has seen multiple transitions in recent years. Prior to Union Kitchen & Tap, the space housed establishments like Backyard Kitchen & Tap and Moondoggies.
American Junkie is expected to open by mid-2025 at 832 Garnet Avenue in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit americanjunkiesd.com and check out the menu below.
