In recent years, downtown La Mesa has evolved into one of San Diego's most exciting dining destinations, with an influx of new restaurants, cafés, bars, and wineries. To showcase the neighborhood's culinary appeal, the La Mesa Village Association (LMVA) is gathering the top area bars and restaurants for the first annual Taste of La Mesa Village tasting event.
"The downtown La Mesa Village has blossomed into one of San Diego's most vibrant neighborhoods with a variety of new restaurants, cafés, bars, and wineries coming in over the past decade," said Wes Troy, President of the LMVA. "We are excited to bring this new event to our community, allowing residents and visitors alike to experience firsthand all of the businesses that make up the eclectic atmosphere of La Mesa Village."
Attendees will receive a Passport voucher guiding them to various tasting stations along La Mesa Boulevard, between Grant Avenue and Acacia Avenue. Participating eateries include Tour de Tapas, Bougie's Cheese Shop, Casa Gabriela, Surf Rider Pizza, Limoncello, Curbside, Johnny B's, Pink Rose Café, Farmer’s Table, Mario’s, Trolley Stop Deli, City Tacos, Pete's Place, Boba Life, and many more.
The event will also feature Sip Stops, offering samples of local craft beers, wines, and spirits from San Pasqual Winery, Skrewball, Hugo Cognac, Long Drink, and Helix Brewery, among others. Those looking for non-alcoholic options will also have plenty to enjoy. Live entertainment and art displays from local musicians and artists will line the tasting route, adding to the evening’s festive atmosphere.
Tickets are now available online for $35 for food and non-alcoholic beverages and $45 for food and alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages (21+ only), with day-of tickets (if available) will be priced at $45 and $55, respectively. Proceeds go to benefit the LMVA, a volunteer-driven nonprofit that promotes local businesses and fosters a thriving community.
