Camino Farms Grocery & Pichudo Mexican Grill Now Open In San Diego's Mission Valley

After nearly two years in development, the first dual-location of Camino Farms Organic Grocery and its sister eatery Pichudo Mexican Grill has officially opened its doors in San Diego’s Mission Valley.

The new venue brings together two distinct but complementary experiences: a high-end organic market and a modern Mexican grill, both designed by longtime local entrepreneurs and brother-in-laws Auday Salem and Renoir Benyamen. Known for their previous ventures Mar Vista Liquor and Carnival Supermarket, the duo aims to reimagine the grocery and fast-casual dining landscape in San Diego. Located on the ground floor of the Alexan Gallerie Apartment Complex, the combined concept marks the beginning of an ambitious plan to open a dozen similar sites across San Diego County by 2030.

Camino Farms Organic Grocery offers a curated selection of organic produce, groceries, household goods, beer, wine, and spirits. The market also features a "Miles to Market" labeling system that tells customers how far each product traveled to reach the shelves, promoting local sourcing and transparency. Inside, shoppers can choose from multiple food counters including a deli serving East Coast-style sandwiches on rosemary bread, a sushi bar, shawarma station, pizza counter, cold-pressed juice bar, espresso and pastry café, and a gelato station.

Connected to the market, Pichudo Mexican Grill has its own dedicated space with a 1,000-square-foot outdoor patio, complete with fire pits and TVs. The fast-casual concept focuses on organic, high-quality ingredients, offering signature items like surf-and-turf fries, wild sea bass tacos, and al pastor bowls - all prepared without seed oils, using avocado oil or beef tallow instead. Pichudo's bar also serves craft cocktails and local beer, making it a social spot for both daytime meals and evening hangouts.

With the Mission Valley location now operational, the team is already working on its second outpost - this time at UC San Diego. The upcoming UCSD location will anchor the base of the university’s Design and Innovation building and include Camino Farms, Pichudo, and an all-new Triton Bar aimed at the campus community, with expanded grab-and-go selections and student-friendly pricing.

Camino Farms Grocery & Pichudo Mexican Grill are now open at 375 Camino De La Reina in San Diego's Mission Valley. For more information, visit caminofarms.com and pichudomexicangrill.com.
