Public records confirm the addition of a new Dirty Birds Oceanside branch, marking a new chapter for the growing local chain that started in Pacific Beach in 2008. Though an official opening date has not yet been announced, the most northerly outpost is expected to debut at some point in 2026 when the community is complete. Once open, it will bring Dirty Birds’ signature offering of nearly 40 chicken wing flavors, alongside burgers, sandwiches, sliders, salads, and craft beers, to one of North County’s fastest-growing coastal communities.
Dirty Birds was founded by Jon Ollis and Adam Jacoby and has become a staple in the San Diego dining scene. After its flagship location in Pacific Beach, the brand steadily expanded, launching additional locations in the College Area near SDSU, Liberty Station in Point Loma, Ocean Beach Plaza, and most recently on the UC San Diego campus in La Jolla. The restaurant also operates a chicken-focused food truck and last year opened Shores Diner, a modern American concept in the former Porter’s Pub space at UCSD.
The Oceanside location continues Dirty Birds’ strategy of embedding itself within walkable, high-traffic communities - this time in a mixed-use residential development in a city undergoing rapid revitalization. With over 120 residential units above and increased foot traffic from nearby beaches, transit lines, and downtown businesses, Alta O’Side’s base-floor tenant is well-positioned to thrive.
Dirty Birds’ newest restaurant in Oceanside adds to a growing portfolio that reflects both local roots and big ambitions. For residents in North County and fans of classic wings-and-sports bar fare, the arrival of Dirty Birds offers one more reason to flock downtown.
Dirty Birds is expected to unveil in 2026 at 1001 North Coast Highway in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside. For more information, visit dirtybirdsbarandgrill.com.
