Todo Pa’ La Cruda Mexican Comfort Food Restaurant To Open New Outpost In San Diego's Pacific Beach

Pacific Beach is about to get a dose of serious comfort food as Todo Pa’ La Cruda Mexican Restaurant prepares to soft open its third San Diego location.

Founded by Elizabeth Ruiz in 2020, Todo Pa’ La Cruda - which translates to "everything for the hangover" - has quickly made a name for itself by serving deeply rooted Guerrero-style Mexican dishes inspired by her family’s Acapulco heritage. The original restaurant launched in San Diego’s Grant Hill neighborhood on Imperial Avenue, followed by a Barrio Logan expansion in 2024 in the former Salud Tacos space. The growing family-owned eatery has now taken over the space formerly occupied by Safi’s Mexican & Mediterranean Food, just two blocks from the ocean in Pacific Beach.

Ruiz, a local real estate agent whose family moved to San Diego in the early 1990s, credits her mother, Doña Antonia, for the restaurant’s culinary backbone. A former chef to celebrities and dignitaries in Mexico, Doña Antonia still trains Todo Pa’ La Cruda’s kitchen team using her time-honored recipes.
The Pacific Beach branch will offer the same hangover-curing and soul-satisfying menu that has earned the brand a loyal following. Diners can expect scratch-made pozole verde, hearty bowls of menudo and caldo de mariscos, as well as mole chilaquiles, pescado frito, chile relleno, shrimp aguachile, birria, and a full lineup of tacos and burritos. The quaint restaurant will offer both indoor and outdoor seating.

This latest expansion marks a notable move into a more tourist-heavy, beachside neighborhood, bringing Todo Pa’ La Cruda’s traditional Mexican comfort fare to a broader audience. The Mission Boulevard location is expected to maintain the same family-friendly, casual vibe as the restaurant’s other spots in Grant Hill and Barrio Logan.

Todo Pa’ La Cruda will soft open on August 2 at 4614 Mission Boulevard in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit todopalacruda.com.
