Tribal Seeds, founded in San Diego in 2005 by brothers Steven and Tony-Ray Jacobo, has grown into an international reggae powerhouse. Over the past 19 years, the band has toured extensively across Europe, South America, New Zealand, Mexico, Guam, and Aruba, building a devoted fan base drawn to their spiritual and culturally rooted sound. With more than 1.3 billion streams across music platforms, the group has become one of the most successful reggae acts to emerge from Southern California. Their latest release, Ancient Blood, dropped in February 2024 and features collaborations with reggae legends like Twinkle Brothers, Kabaka Pyramid, Romain Virgo, and Hollie Cook, further cementing their role as innovators of the genre.
The Movement, formed in Columbia, South Carolina in 2003, has also carved out a reputation as genre-bending leaders in the alternative reggae scene. Drawing influence from acts such as Sublime, 311, and Slightly Stoopid, they've blended heavy drum and bass with melodic flourishes that have resonated with fans nationwide. Their 2019 release Ways of the World debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae chart and held a spot in the top 10 for more than 40 consecutive weeks. Their most recent record, Always with Me, released in 2022, featured collaborations with artists including Slightly Stoopid, Iration, and HIRIE.
The show marks another major event at The Rady Shell, which has quickly become San Diego’s premier concert destination. Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella and some of the largest festivals in the country, is producing the rental event, ensuring high-caliber production and a festival-like atmosphere set against the skyline and waterfront of downtown San Diego. Tickets include General Admission and VIP passes, which provide access directly in front of the stage.
Doors open at 5:30pm with the show beginning at 6:30pm. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, with pre-paid parking options offered by Ace Parking. Though The Rady Shell is home to the San Diego Symphony, the orchestra will not be performing at this show.
For fans of reggae and San Diego’s homegrown music scene, the concert represents a rare opportunity to see Tribal Seeds perform in their hometown alongside one of the genre's most acclaimed touring acts. With the addition of KBong & Johnny Cosmic, the night is expected to deliver a high-energy celebration of music, culture, and community.
