Founded in 2017 as a humble Los Angeles parking lot pop-up, Dave’s Hot Chicken has become a nationwide sensation known for its perfectly crispy tenders, spicy sliders, and cult-like following. The Solana Beach outpost will be operated by franchise partners Lawrence Kourie, Deryl Pangelinan, and Loralin Acoba - the same team behind Dave’s popular Pacific Beach, El Cajon, Mission Valley and Escondido locations.
As with other branches, guests can expect Dave’s signature heat levels ranging from “No Spice” to the infamous “Reaper,” which requires a signed waiver. The streamlined menu centers on fried chicken or cauliflower tenders and sliders, served with sides like seasoned fries, mac and cheese, and kale slaw.
The Solana Beach expansion marks yet another milestone for the franchise following its acquisition by Atlanta-based Roark Capital - the powerhouse investment group behind Subway, Arby’s, and Dunkin’. Despite its corporate ties, Dave’s has maintained its street-food roots and loyal fanbase by emphasizing quality ingredients, quick service, and a bit of swagger.
The opening date has yet to be officially announced, but permit filings indicate that preparations are well underway. When the doors open, North County residents can finally see what the hype - and the heat - is all about.
Dave’s Hot Chicken will soon open at 905 Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Solana Beach’s Loma Santa Fe Plaza. For more information, visit daveshotchicken.com.
