Outdoor Ice Skating Returns To San Diego For The Holiday Season

San Diego may not get snow, but the region still embraces the magic of winter with one of its most beloved seasonal traditions: outdoor ice skating. For 2025, pop-up rinks are returning to beaches, resorts, fairgrounds, and community hubs across the county, offering San Diegans a chance to trade palm trees for twinkle lights and glide their way into the holiday spirit.

What began as a novelty has become a true local tradition, drawing families, couples, and groups of friends who look forward to lacing up their skates each December. Whether you prefer a rink overlooking the Pacific, a festive fairgrounds setting surrounded by holiday lights, or a rustic experience tucked beside a winter market, this year’s lineup offers a winter escape for every style. Even without chilly weather, San Diego once again proves that it can deliver the season’s charm - no freezing temperatures required.
