San Diego Restaurants Closures & Downgrades This Week (December 12 - 18) Due To County Health Department Inspections

This is the weekly list of San Diego County restaurants and food facilities that have faced temporary closures and downgraded status due to health inspections from December 12-18, 2025.
The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality performs thousands of inspections annually to ensure that food establishments adhere to necessary safety standards. When inspectors identify critical violations, they issue closure notices, mandating that businesses resolve the issues before they can reopen, as well as reduce the health grade of some establishments.

Below, we outline the recent week's closures and downgrades and the specific violation list for each as reported by the health inspectors.

Breakfast Republic (707 G St, San Diego, CA 92101) - Ordered closed on December 16 for Vermin - Major; Nonfood Contact Surfaces Clean - Out of Compliance; Equipment and Utensil Storage, Use - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance. 

Lupillozz Pizzeria (2020 Hacienda Dr, Suite R, Vista, CA 92081) - Ordered closed on December 17 for Vermin - Major; Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance. 

IB Thai Restaurant (1299 Imperial Beach Blvd, Imperial Beach, CA 91932) - Ordered closed on December 17 for Vermin - Major and Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance. 

Pizza Nova (5050 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92103) - Ordered closed on December 17 for Food Contact Surfaces - Minor; Vermin - Major; Wiping Cloths - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance. 

DOWNGRADES:

Pho Hung Cali (6 N 4th Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91911) - Downgraded to a B Grade with an 82 score on December 16 for Handwashing - Major; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Food Contact Surfaces - Major; Vermin - Minor; Thawing Methods - Out of Compliance; Warewashing Facilities Maintained - Out of Compliance; Ventilation and Lighting - Out of Compliance; Wiping Cloths - Out of Compliance; Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance.
