Pizza On Pearl Opens North Park Location With Disco Ball Vibes And Late-Night Slice Appeal

Pizza On Pearl has officially opened its second San Diego location, bringing its New York-style slices to a high-traffic stretch of North Park. The debut comes just weeks after signage first appeared at the space, marking a quick turnaround for the storefront that has seen multiple short-lived concepts in recent years.

The new outpost places Pizza On Pearl directly in the heart of one of San Diego’s most competitive dining neighborhoods. Situated on the same block as the consistently packed Leila Restaurant and within walking distance of The Observatory North Park, the pizzeria enters a dense corridor already lined with notable pizza operators including Gelati & Peccati, Tribute Pizza, Mr. Moto, Pizzeria Luigi and Little Sisters Pizza.

Despite the crowded field, Pizza On Pearl is leaning into a more casual, hangout-driven identity at its North Park location. The interior features a disco ball hanging overhead and a pool table, giving the space a laid-back, nightlife-adjacent atmosphere that aligns more with the neighborhood’s bar scene than a traditional slice shop. The approach positions the restaurant as both a quick stop for pizza and a place to linger, particularly during evening hours when foot traffic in the area peaks.

The menu remains consistent with the brand’s established formula out of La Jolla, focusing on straightforward New York-style pies available by the slice or whole. Offerings include classic cheese and pepperoni alongside specialty combinations like the AB7, topped with pepperoni, ricotta, basil, and hot honey, as well as white pies such as the BCR with bacon, chicken, caramelized onions, and ranch. Strombolis, calzones, wings, garlic knots, and desserts round out the lineup, reinforcing a familiar, crowd-pleasing approach.

Originally founded in 2009, Pizza On Pearl has undergone multiple ownership changes over the years but has more recently reestablished itself in La Jolla with a focus on consistency and accessibility. The North Park expansion represents a strategic move into a neighborhood where competition is high but demand for quality, late-night-friendly food remains constant.

Pizza On Pearl is now open at 3914 30th Street in San Diego’s North Park. For more information, visit pizzaonpearl.com.
