This year, the Fourth of July lands on a Saturday, making for a full holiday weekend packed with celebrations. Here is our list of nearly every fireworks show, festival, parade, and patriotic event happening around San Diego County for Independence Day 2026.

Big Bay Boom (July 4 at 9:15pm) - California's largest fireworks show returns to San Diego Bay with fireworks launched from four barges positioned around the waterfront. Prime viewing locations include Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero, the Marina District, Coronado Ferry Landing, and numerous spots around the bay.

San Diego County Fair Fireworks Spectacular (July 4 at 9pm) - The San Diego County Fair wraps up its penultimate day of the holiday weekend with a massive fireworks show over the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Reserved grandstand seating is available while general viewing areas throughout the fairgrounds offer excellent views.

California Center For The Arts Escondido Independence Day Festival & Fireworks (July 4 from 4-9:30pm) - More than 25,000 attendees are expected for Escondido's 61st annual celebration featuring live music, food trucks, an artisan market, crafts, games, and a fireworks finale.

El Cajon Fourth of July Picnic & Fireworks (July 4 from 3-9pm) - Kennedy Park once again hosts El Cajon's family-friendly Independence Day celebration featuring games, crafts, activities, food vendors, and fireworks beginning at 9pm.

Red, White & BOOM! At LEGOLAND California (July 4 at 9pm) - Enjoy special holiday activities throughout the day before capping off the evening with LEGOLAND's signature fireworks show, complete with special viewing glasses that transform the display into exploding LEGO bricks.

Dating back to 1892, the Oceanside Independence Parade returns to Coast Highway from 10am to noon as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration, featuring hometown heroes, community groups, marching bands, and patriotic floats. After the parade, the festivities continue at the Junior Seau Pier Amphitheatre with the free USA 250 Festival from noon to 6pm, headlined by country artist Craig Campbell and featuring live music, local vendors, chili cook-offs, pinewood derby races, a family Fun Zone, food, and plenty of classic Americana just steps from the beach. 

Surfrider Foundation Morning After Mess Cleanup (July 5 from 9-11am) - After one of the busiest beach days of the year comes one of San Diego's largest volunteer cleanup efforts. The Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter's 20th annual Morning After Mess returns on Sunday, July 5, inviting volunteers to help restore local beaches after the Independence Day crowds. Cleanup sites will be hosted from 9-11am at Oceanside Beach, South Ponto, Mission Beach, Fiesta Island, and OB Dog Beach & Estuary. Bring your friends, lend a hand, and help keep San Diego's coastline beautiful after the holiday festivities.
