In a message shared to social media, Station Tavern wrote: "As a community we support each other in good times and bad. Right now, Mario's friends, family, and Station crew need help from our community to find Mario and bring him home safely."
According to a Google Document shared by Station Tavern, Arias was last seen on Saturday, July 4, at approximately 8:22 a.m., when an Uber driver dropped him off near 48th Street between El Cajon Boulevard and Orange Avenue in the City Heights neighborhood. Family members say he does not have his cellphone, identification, cash or house keys, leaving him with no reliable way to contact loved ones or return home.
Mario is described as a 35-year-old Mexican male, approximately 5-foot-8, weighing 190 pounds, with black hair, light brown eyes and a stocky, muscular build. He has visible anime tattoos on his arms, hands and legs. When last seen, he was reportedly wearing black shorts with gold "South Carolina" lettering, a black shirt with bars and skulls, black-and-white BK sneakers and green socks.
Family and friends have created an extensive online guide coordinating search efforts throughout City Heights and surrounding neighborhoods. The document asks volunteers to help distribute missing person flyers, search designated areas, contact local hospitals and shelters, and organize group search efforts.
The family says anyone wishing to participate in organized search groups can call or text 858-322-1497. Volunteers are also encouraged to share Mario's missing person flyer across social media and post printed flyers throughout neighborhoods identified in the search plan.
According to the family, Mario is believed to be in need of medical attention and "may not be behaving normally." They ask that anyone who sees or interacts with him call 911 immediately, even if he declines assistance, and then notify the family at 619-882-1205 or 619-872-1968.
The family's search guide includes maps identifying several focus areas in and around City Heights where volunteers are concentrating their efforts, while noting they cannot be certain Mario remains in the area.
Anyone with information regarding Mario Arias' whereabouts is urged to contact 911 immediately and then notify his family using the numbers above.
For those interested in volunteering, the family's complete community search guide provides additional details on search locations, flyer distribution and coordinated search efforts.
