Annual Del Mar Taste & Art Stroll Returns This Fall with Original Artwork, Culinary Offerings and Fun for the Whole Family | October 6

September 3, 2013

The Del Mar Village Association will host the Del Mar Taste & Art Stroll on Sunday, October 6. Held in the heart of the charming village of Del Mar, this annual event includes a free art stroll, ticketed restaurant tasting, live music, and a new Fido Festival for the family pooch.

The event opens with a free Art Stroll featuring an abundance of works by local and regional juried artists and craftsmen. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., guests are invited to walk up and down the main street of Camino Del Mar in the Del Mar Village and experience paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics and much more. Guests will also have the unique opportunity to meet artists and art enthusiasts at each booth.

During the Art Stroll, guests are encouraged to bring their pets along to the new Fido Festival.  Dogs and pups of all sizes are invited to experience this K9 corner, hosting unique dog tastes, specialty pet products and services, pet adoptions from local shelters and organizations, and a “Puparazzi” photo booth. After the event, Fido and friends can explore Del Mar further by catching the sunset at nearby Del Mar Dog Beach or taking a seat at one of the numerous pet-friendly restaurants in the area.

In the afternoon, guests have the opportunity to experience irresistible culinary creations from multiple Del Mar eateries during the Taste of Del Mar. Between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., participating guests can stop in at over 25 of Del Mar’s most highly-regarded restaurants and sample a wide variety of great plates and offerings.  At the event’s Ranch & Coast Magazine booth, Taste of Del Mar participants can cast their votes for the “Tastiest Taste” and enter a drawing to win fabulous prizes. Taste of Del Mar tickets are available for $25 per person, purchased in advance, and $30 per person, day of event.

The Del Mar Taste & Art Stroll will also feature live musical entertainment throughout the day.  Stages will be placed along Camino Del Mar and at various venues around the area including L'Auberge Amphitheater and Del Mar Plaza.  Musical highlights of the event include San Diego based jazz guitarist, Peter Sprague, who will perform with his band at the L'Auberge Amphitheater from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Complimentary public parking is available at the Del Mar Shores/Winston School located at 215 9th Street. Valet parking with a drop-off location in the heart of the Del Mar Village is available at the Scripps Coastal Medical Center located at 1335 Camino Del Mar.
