Hotel Del Coronado Presents Chef Throwdown On June 9 To Benefit The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

May 5, 2016

Hotel del Coronado will host an unforgettable gourmet tasting event on their expansive, oceanfront Windsor Lawn on Thursday, June 9. Benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Chef Throwdown will treat guests to a culinary feast where 30 of San Diego and Baja’s best chefs will present tasting portions of signature dishes and desserts from stations set around the historic property, while local wineries and breweries pair their favorite libations with the culinary creations. There will also be live entertainment, as well as both a live and silent auction.

At the conclusion of Chef Showdown, the foundation’s esteemed Culinary Council of local tastemakers and culinary leaders will decide the evening’s top dishes, while attendees cast their votes for People’s Choice. The winner of the chef competition will receive such prizes as a La Caja China roasting box, an all-inclusive trip to Valle de Guadalupe for 6, a custom leather knife roll with handmade chef knife and a two night stay at the Hotel del Coronado.

Live entertainment, and live and silent auctions will round out the evening. All proceeds raised will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and its on-going mission to cure cystic fibrosis and provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives. The ever-growing and esteemed Culinary Council include Brian Malarkey, Claudia Sandoval, Troy Johnson, Tommy Gomes, Jack Ford, Andre Zotoff, Michele Parente, Sam "The Cooking Guy" Zien, Serge Dedina and Lead Judge Richard Sandoval.
