OB Surf Lodge Set To Swing Open In San Diego's Ocean Beach Neighborhood

March 4, 2017

San Diego's Social Syndicate hospitality group will open OB Surf Lodge at the former Shade's Oceanfront Bistro space in Ocean Beach next week, directly underneath the company's popular Wonderland bar and restaurant.

OB Surf Lodge takes the space that Shade's Bistro occupied for 13 years. The restaurant will offer a brunch-centric menu designed by Executive Chef Nick Brune - the former chef/owner of the now defunct Local Habit and the proprietor of Eco Caters. Expect dishes like the Pesto Baked Eggs with lodge hash browns and tahini skewers; The Lodge Burger with bacon, egg and hash browns; or the Smoked Salmon Board with bagel, cream cheese and capers. OB Surf Lodge will offer indoor and outdoor dining for nearly 200 people, including a dog-friendly patio with an amazing view of the Ocean Beach pier.

The partners behind Social Syndicate - Mina Desiderio, Brendan Huffman, Mark Huber, and Hoffman Leung -  also have ownership interests in The Local Eatery & Drinking Hole, Bootlegger, The Local Pacific Beach, The Rabbit Hole, Resident Brewing, Bayside Landing, Florent, and Wonderland Ocean Beach. The company is also currently consulting on Wokou, a ramen & yakitori restaurant coming to The Village at Pacific Highland Ranch in Carmel Valley later this year.

OB Surf Lodge is located at 5083 Santa Monica Drive in Ocean Beach and may soft open as early as Monday, March 6. For more information, visit obsurflodge.com and check out photos of the menus below.
