Celebrating its second anniversary this month, Toast Enoteca & Cucina, a restaurant and wine bar located in San Diego’s East Village, has launched a new wine shop and retail wine program. Toast has introduced lower retail prices on its portfolio of 300 wines, which are now available for purchase to go and can also be enjoyed at the restaurant with an additional $7 corkage fee.
Martin Gonzalez, owner and executive chef of Toast Enoteca & Cucina said, “Our goal has always been to introduce diners to wines they may not be familiar with. Our wine list grows and evolves, along with the tastes of our guests. It’s a fun and rewarding process to educate diners and introduce them to something new. The new retail wine program will allow us to keep doing this.”
A guest favorite at Toast is the state-of-the-art Enomatic wine tasting machines. Using a card pre-loaded with a certain amount of money, guests can taste wines typically only available by the bottle at other restaurants by the one-ounce pour, or by the glass.
In addition to its new wine shop and retail wine, Toast is also serving a new seasonal menu. Highlights include:
- COZZE EN SALSA PICCANTE, Sauteed mussels in a spicy white garlic sauce
- CAVOLFIORE BICOLORE IN SALSA BIANCA, Purple and white cauliflower in a garlic and white wine cream sauce
- POLLO ALLA MELAGRANA, Chicken breast in a mushroom sauce and pomegranate served with roasted cauliflower
Toast now offers free validated parking for guests that spend $20 at lunch or $50 at dinner. Parking is available underneath the restaurant in the Diamond View Tower underground lot. This offer excludes parking on holidays and Padres’ home games.
