Celebrate Celiac Awareness Month in Gluten-Free Style at 2GOOD2B Bakery & Café!

May 5, 2012

Raise your hand if you love freshly baked bread! What about brownies? Pizza? What if you thought you could never enjoy any of these delicious dishes again? This fear is a reality for the rising population of Americans who suffer from Celiac’s Disease, an auto-immune disorder triggered by the gluten protein found in wheat, barley and rye.

May is Celiac Awareness Month, and rather than being forced to stay away from their favorite carbs, 2GOOD2B Bakery & Café owners Mike Barbanti and Diana Benedek have a simple solution for the gluten intolerant population—let them eat cake!

Since opening the gluten-free establishment in 2011, executive chef Barbanti has been serving up fairy tale confections for Celiac sufferers and gluten-free dieters alike. Treats range from amazing Apple Pie to Coconut Cake and finger-lickin’-good Lemon Bars. Or splurge on a perfect Panini, marvelous Margherita Pizza or mind-blowing Mac and Cheese.

Still, the fan favorite is their bread. Lovers of the loaf believe they’d have difficulty deciphering Barbanti’s bread from its gluten-filled counterparts in a blind taste test. “Yeah,” one diner commented, “It’s that good.” And what a selection they offer!

2GOOD2B allows Celiac sufferers and regular diners to have their cake and eat it, too, while reaping the many benefits of a gluten-free diet.
