soccerloco Hosts Euro 2012 Viewing Parties at Caffé Calabria for San Diego Fans

May 30, 2012

Hey all you soccer fans - this June, soccerloco, the online and specialty retailer of premium and exclusive soccer gear, will host a series of special viewing parties for the 14th playing of the UEFA Euro 2012; beginning with the Italian national team’s group stage match against defending champion Spain on June 10, 2012.

The viewing parties will be held at North Park’s Caffé Calabria (3933 30th St.) on 30th St. and University Ave. For three weeks, 16 teams will gather for Euro 2012, which will stage 31 games across eight cities and two countries.

Planning to announce a schedule of dates later this month, soccerloco and its sponsors are inviting fans to the Italian caffé to watch the matches with fellow fans and participate in contests for signed soccer gear from professional athletes, free giveaways, and more.

“We hosted similar events for the FIFA World Cup a couple years ago and received a great response from all those who came out to watch the games,” said John Lococo, President of soccerloco. “With sponsors including Puma and contests for signed replica jerseys and soccer balls, we are excited to unite soccer fans from around San Diego to cheer on Italy.”

The European Championships are hosted by Poland and the Ukraine and kick off on Friday, June 8, 2012. It is the first time that either nation has hosted the tournament.

The final tournament features 16 nations who qualified between August 2010 and November 2011 to join the two host nations in the tournament. The winner of the tournament gains automatic entry to the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup hosted by Brazil.

“With an authentic ambience and energetic vibe, Caffé Calabria is the perfect setting for the community to come together and show their sheer enthusiasm for their team(s),” added Lococo.

The viewing parties at Caffé Calabria are open to the public and free to attend.

Headquartered in San Diego, soccerloco is actively involved in community events, as well as club and youth soccer leagues in-and-around Southern California.
