June 15, 2012

On Saturday, June 23rd, don't miss out on the 1st Annual Encinitas Foodie Fest - a free family fun event with superb arisanal food vendors, cooking demonstrations, live music, food trucks, a children's cooking booth, and even Zumba dance performances.

If you are a connoisseur of all things food, a local music junkie, a parent looking for good wholesome entertainment for your kids, or simply in search for something fun to do while supporting a great cause, then don’t miss the first Annual Encinitas Foodie Fest.

Wabisabi Green introduces the festival with the honorable mission of bringing the community together to elevate public awareness about sustainability, while simultaneously promoting local artisanal gourmet foods, art, business and the Coastal Community Foundation’s Healthy Day Fund. This event takes place at the Pacific Station located on 687 South Coast Highway 101, Encinitas, CA 92024.

Event partner Whole Foods Encinitas will be serving succulent barbeque featuring sliders made from local, sustainable, grass-fed beef supplied by Homegrown Meats. Proceeds benefit Healthy Day. Food trucks, Firehouse Chefs and FoodFarm, will offer gourmet delights from their location on 101 in front of Pacific Station. Solace & the Moonlight Lounge will be serving white sangria and draft beer in their outdoor patio.

There will be an extensive range of gourmet food products to sample and taste such as baked goods from Sadie Rose Baking Company or Bread & Butter Baking Company, enticing sweets from Sea Salt Candy Company or Millie’s Gelato, savory cheese from Fiscalini Farms, and tantalizing spreads from Majestic Garlic or Pacific Beach Peanut Butter. In addition, gourmet food-related products include Wabisabi Green’s eco friendly table linens made in San Diego, Bottlehood’s recycled creation’s and The bUZZ Ladies social networking group centered around restaurant reviews.

Check out the crazy assortment of living succulent centerpieces created for the Healthy Day Auction by 11 local artists from metal craft by Danny Salzhandler to ceramic works by Jolee Pink, Maria De Castro and Cheryl Tall. Unique to the Encinitas Foodie Fest will be the Art to Table fundraiser featuring sensational succulent centerpieces created by a collaborative effort between Wabisabi Green, Danny Salzhandler, Falling Waters Landscape, Form & Function, Lemongrass Soulful Garden Boutique, Shaun Michael and Marcus Papay Design. These incredible functional works of art will be displayed in local restaurants. The public will have the opportunity to bid on the vases at the restaurants or online to support Coastal Community Foundation's Healthy Day fund.

Instructors from Frog’s Fitness Center and Total Woman Gym & Day Spa will provide lively ZUMBA performances throughout the day.
