July 21, 2012
Hey beer lovers, the 2nd Annual San Diego Brew Fest returns to Liberty Station's NTC Plaza today, Saturday, July 21st from 2pm to 6pm (3-6 for GA). Following last year's sold out event, this year's Brew Fest will offer attendees an opportunity to sample offerings from countless breweries and numerous food trucks, all while rocking out to live music.
The majority of San Diego's world class breweries and brewpubs are participating in this year's Brew Fest, including Mission, Coronado, Green Flash, Ballast Point, Left Coast, Tail Gate, Karl Strauss, Pacific Beach Alehouse, Manzanita, San Diego Brewing, Hess, The Beer Company, Stumblefoot, Prohibition, Julian Cider, Aztec, Rock Bottom, Monkey Paw, Main Street, Rough Draft, and Butcher's. Additional participants include Kona, Shocktop, Black Star, Sam Adams, Pyramid, Magic Hat, Anchor, Magners, Firestone, Shiner, Lagunitas, Deschutes, Wyders, Sierra Nevada, Big Sky, Drakes, Cold Spring, Mendocino, New English, Bruvado, Bierbitzch, Legends, Singha, Evans, Cosmic Ales, Shipyard, Seadog, Abita, North Coast, Uinta, Devil's Canyon, Noble Brews, Beechwood BBQ, Cismontane, and Hangar 24.
Admission will include unlimited beer, with food sold separately. Food trucks will be on hand to complement the beer with local participants Devilicious, Super Q, Tabe, Dog Shack, Thai 1 On, Insliders, and Two for the Road.
A beer festival isn't a festival without music, and this year's bands play homage to Coachella and 90s music. Black Crystal Wolf Kids will cover a spectrum of indie rock music from Pavement and Vampire Weekend to the Killers and Oasis. Becky Kramer's Brother brings back the 90's covering one hit wonders to bands like Weezer and No Doubt.
Tickets for the 2nd Annual San Diego Brew Fest are $40 for general admission and $50 for VIP. Get them fast because this event will certainly sell out.
Liberty Station can be tricky to navigate, so put 2640 Cushing Road into your GPS. You can NOT bring pets and you must have ID with you. Everyone must be 21 or over, including designated drivers, which also means no infants/babies/kids. VIP admission begins at 2pm, but you may arrive as early as 1:30 to check in, and general admission begins at 3pm (we'll begin checking in at 2:45). The event is over at 6pm.
If you purchase your tickets online, you'll get an email with a link to print your tickets. While there is an option to scan phones, you'll be able to check in much faster if you print your ticket out. Parking is free and located just West of the venue at Roosevelt and Cushing.
