The Hillcrest Farmers Market is pleased to welcome Local Habit, an organic restaurant located in the heart of the Hillcrest neighborhood, for September’s Visiting Chef Series taking place on Sunday, September 23rd, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Located centrally in the market, the Visiting Chef Series will give market patrons a glimpse into the expertise of Chef Nicholas Brune’s cooking at Local Habit, where this unique restaurant switches up its menu monthly to accommodate the seasons, while exposing your taste buds to an array of new flavors.
Brune was born and raised in the heart of “flavor country,” Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he began cooking and experimenting with food at a very young age. It is with his infatuation with the flavor and design of food that drove him to start his own catering business, Eco Caters located in both San Diego and Los Angeles and eventually opening Local Habit in July of 2011. He will be using local organic products provided by the Hillcrest Farmers Market to create his dish and will be able to answer questions about Local Habit, while market patrons enjoy scrumptious samples upon the conclusion of his cooking demonstration.
