Hillcrest's Newest Nightlife Venue Hosts Name Unveiling Celebration at the Space Previously Occupied by Eden | September 7th

September 7, 2012

The new Hillcrest nightlife concept that took over the space previously occupied by Eden is hosting a name unveiling celebration tonight - Friday, September 7th. After holding a competition to choose the new name within the Hillcrest community, new owners DVR Intellectual Property Group are hosting a VIP cocktail hour for those who participated in the name voting contest, and are extending the celebration to the public with no cover charge.

Hillcrest welcomes its newest entertainment venue this Friday, September 7th with a full-fledged name unveiling celebration. In an effort to involve the community, DVR Intellectual Property Group - which recently acquired the space - held an online competition facilitated by San Diego Pix and SDGLN, allowing community members to suggest a name for the new nightlife venue, formerly known as Eden. The 15,000-square-foot-space is also home to the new location of The Range Kitchen & Cocktails.

For the contest, DVR Intellectual did offer some suggested concept names to begin with including 1202, Agenda, Fizz, Forbidden, Honey, iDentity, Nectar, The Closet, There, Verboden, Whiskey Dick's (my personal favorite), but they left it open to members of the community to offer a better idea.

The venue will open at 9pm on Friday, with no cover, beats courtesy of DJ John Williams and an exciting mystery drink special in honor of the venue’s new name. For those who participated in the naming competition, the venue will be hosting a VIP cocktail hour from 9-10pm sponsored by Stoli Premium Vodka, to thank everyone in the community who took the time to vote. After the name is officially announced, the winners of the naming competition will not only receive major bragging rights, but a chance to mingle in a special VIP area with Stoli bottle service.

The venue is located at 1202 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92103.
