The 4th Annual Fifth Avenue Auto Showcase is cruising into town October 14th

Traffic will halt this fall with the extravagant display of horsepower and ingenuity at the 4th Annual Fifth Avenue Auto Showcase. Car enthusiasts from all over San Diego County will flock to the historic Gaslamp Quarter to take over 5th Avenue from E Street to L Street on Sunday, October 14th, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This timeless event is free and open to the public and will showcase high-performance automobiles and motorcycles ranging from the traditional classics to lavish luxury modern vehicles.

This is a car show unlike any other; surrounded by the district’s distinctive Victorian architecture, while featuring the most cutting-edge displays in the automotive industry. As you make your way down 5th Avenue, you’ll gaze upon a decadent variety of Italian exotics such as Ferrari and Maserati, as well as the American icons, including the Thunderbird and Corvette.

The Gaslamp Quarter is going big this year, extending the show from E Street all the way to the historic Gaslamp Quarter Archway, beckoning you to stroll the streets of Downtown San Diego. More cars equals more fun! Ferrari aficionados prepare as the Ferrari Owners Club of San Diego will take over an entire block this year. Get a chance to cruise through the Mopar Club of San Diego’s block, boasting everything from Chargers to Vipers. Whether they are restoring, driving, racing, or showcasing, this is a block you won’t want to miss! More than simply modes of transportation, automobiles and motorcycles have their own culture and lifestyle.

The grand finale for the Fifth Avenue Auto Showcase will feature the presentation of the highly anticipated “People’s Choice Award"; the prestigious award is voted upon directly by car show participants and the public alike, honoring the favorite car in the show. Not to be missed, immediately following the presentation of awards will be a spectacular rev-up-and-roarin’-rollout of all car show participants as they depart the Gaslamp Quarter at the close of the Fifth Avenue Auto Showcase.

Proceeds from this exhilarating event will go towards the Gaslamp Quarter Association’s ongoing promotional programs and efforts to enhance and protect this National Historic District. The Gaslamp Quarter Association is the 501(c)6 non-profit trade organization of the Gaslamp Quarter. The Gaslamp Quarter Association is partially funded by the City of San Diego’s Small Business Enhancement Program.
