After the enormously successful inaugural Electric Run in Orange County, the Electric Run is heading south to San Diego on February 2nd, the second stop in a nationwide tour and the first ever Electric Run in San Diego. 11,000 participants are expected to run to over one million watts of light and sound on the visually stunning 5k course at the Del Mar Racetrack, to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of San Diego.
Ragnar Relay Series founder Dan Hill and San Diego based VAVi Sport and Social Club, the creators of the wildly popular Del Mar Mud Run and the ROC Race, will host this spectacular event. They’ve partnered with Dreamworks animators, stage designers from Coachella, and other talented artists to create a one-of-a-kind experience that has never been seen before in the race world. Zico Coconut Water is the presenting sponsor of San Diego.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be a large part of the San Diego production as Zico is such a fantastic fit for the active & social lifestyle that Electric Run embodies” said Southwest Marketing Manager Chris Gates.

The Electric Run San Diego proudly supports Boys & Girls Club. The Boys & Girls Club of San Diego will be at the Electric Run promoting their “Little Jumps… Big Changes” initiative, which focuses on battling the childhood obesity epidemic by promoting healthy lifestyles. Zico also is very supportive of Boys & Girls Club as they offer a healthy alternative to sugary sports drinks & chocolate milks.
Participants are encouraged to be a part of the show by lighting up with glow sticks, neon, LED lights and anything else their imagination can conjure up.
The Electric Run is an event for all ages. There will be an after party for those who want to take full advantage of the celebration, and all kids 7 and under run free! Over 6,000 are already registered!
