SummerSalt Rooftop Lounge at Hotel Palomar to Kick Off Mardi Gras With First-Ever Crawfish Boil | Sunday, February 10th

February 8, 2013

This Sunday, February 10th, venture to downtown San Diego's Hotel Palomar as SummerSalt Rooftop Pool and Lounge, Saltbox and “Boil Master” Simon Dolinky will put on its inaugural “Crawfish Boil” as a celebration of N'Orleans' Mardi Gras culture.

Just before Mardi Gras, SummerSalt Rooftop Pool and Lounge will sprawl hundreds of pounds of freshly cooked, scarlet shellfish across newspaper adorned picnic tables for their inaugural Crawfish Boil.

An authentic Louisiana social affair, the $20 admission includes all-you-can-eat-crawfish from “Boil Master” Chef Simon Dolinky, keg-fulls of Louisiana-brewed Abita Beer, and live music from San Diego’s own Euphoria Brass Band. In the spirit of a traditional boil, SummerSalt’s party will be a celebration of Cajun culture and cuisine. Get ready to strap on a bib, get your hands dirty, and ‘pinch the tail and suck the head’ – the rule for eating crawfish in Louisiana, and now officially in San Diego.

The $20 admission price includes all-you-can-eat crawfish and your first beer.  Doors open for the event at 1pm, and the crawfish feast starts at 2pm and goes until those little suckers are gone!

SummerSalt Rooftop Pool and Lounge is located on the 4th Floor of Hotel Palomar at 1047 5th Avenue in downtown SD.  And hey, do your homework, and watch the video below on how to eat a crawfish so you don't look like an amateur!
