True North Tavern’s Summer Kickoff: Zydeco and Cajun Party on Sunday, June 30th

June 28, 2013

Get ready for a knee slappin’ good time at True North Tavern on Sunday, June 30 as they throw a Zydeco and Cajun Party to kick off the summer. Say it with us, “Laissez les bon temps rouler” (lay-zay lay bon ton rule-ay), which translated from Cajun-Creole speak means “let the good times roll” on this Sunday Funday in North Park.

Whether you call ‘em crawfish, crawdaddies, mudbugs, or crayfish, wash this N’awlins dish down with Louisiana’s own Abita Beer or order a Sailor Jerry Hurricane and keep the cup. This is one party where it is most appropriate to suck the head and pinch the tail. It’s precisely how you eat a crawdad.

The crawfish boil will consist of corn on the cob, red potatoes, onion, garlic and peppers, and a choice to choose shrimp over crawfish for something less traditional. The boil is delivered straight to your table, covered in newspaper and ready for some down n’ dirty eating.

Starting at 2 p.m., The Swamp Critters will be live with sounds from the south featuring Cajun, blues and Texas swing music. Get down on the bayou without leaving San Diego at North Park’s own True North Tavern. Join the party at 3815 30th Street or visit online for additional information at truenorthtavern.com.
