With all the candy hearts, rose specials and abundance of red and pink, it’s hard to forget that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.  SanDiegoVille wants to make planning your romantic outing easy so we've listed specials from all around town - from hotel stays, to delicious dinners, to unique and fun date ideas. With spectacular scenery, sun-drenched beaches, world-class restaurants and luxury resorts, San Diego is the ideal destination for romance this Valentine's Day.

In addition to its full dinner menu, Truluck’s, known for its fresh seafood, will offer a three course prix-fixe menu for $100. Tempting choices include Large Stone Crab Claws, Ribeye with a Petite Lobster Tail, a Filet and Crab Claw Pairing, Dutch Harbor Red King Crab and South African Lobster Tail. For dessert, choose from Chocolate Malt Cake, Sugar Free Coconut Cream Pie and Specialty Carrot Cake with your complimentary champagne toast.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar will offer a three course menu including a Pan-Seared Scallop, a choice of Caesar or Crisp House Salad and an Entrée Duo, choice of Salmon or Fresh Lobster Tail paired with a Petite Filet Mignon. With over 100 wines to choose from, couples can find the perfect bottle to complement their candle-lit celebration. Fleming’s Valentine’s Day menu begins at $59.95 per guest.

The Melting Pot La Jolla, famed for delicious fondue, will offer a five course prix-fixe menu priced at $86 per person. Highlights include Creamy Crab Fondue Starter, Strawberry Almond Salad and a main course of Lobster Tail, Raspberry Beaujolais Chicken and Filet Mignon. Save the best for last, as the dessert fondue will be a choice of Snickerdoodle, Dark Chocolate Wild Berry or White Chocolate Passion Swirl.

The award-winning Pacific Rim and sushi restaurant Cafe Japengo will offer a Valentine-themed sushi class on Saturday, February 15. Guests will be treated to a special tasting of three different Japanese beers, Cafe Japengo’s Signature Chocolate Lava Cake with a Valentine twist and each lady in attendance will receive a red rose. In addition to Cafe Japengo’s regular two hour sushi class, which will teach guests how to properly select fish and rice, Executive Chef Jerry Warner will demonstrate how to make Cafe Japengo’s colorful seafood salad. In the spirit of celebrating a day centered on intimacy, this class will be limited to 20 attendees. The price to attend is $60 per person.

Davanti Enoteca in Little Italy is heating up for Valentine’s Day with “Cupid’s Perfect Pairings.” Taking place Wednesday, February 12 between 7 and 10 p.m., this five-course dinner will be limited to 20 attendees and priced at $75 per person. At the private event, Davanti Enoteca will present the restaurant’s five top-selling wines of 2013, each paired with Chef de Cuisine Christopher Vera-Tudela’s rustic and Italian-inspired creations. Cupid’s Perfect Pairings courses will include Panama Cobia Crudo with blood orange, cara cara oranges, micro basil, arbaquina oil and sea salt; Poached lobster with sunkissed tomato aoli, arugula and toasted brioche; Bucatini with duck egg, chives, prosciutto and ricotta salata; Bone-in pork rip chop with sweet and scarlet potatoes and crispy mushrooms (paired with Cabernet Sauvignon, Sean Minor, Napa Valley) and Julian apple bread pudding with apple butter, brandy sauce and candied walnuts.

Come see what the hype is all about at the brand new North County soon-to-be-hotspot Green Dragon Tavern & Museum this Valentine’s Day.  All weekend, readers can take a step back in time while treating their tastebuds to the colonial-era inspired venue's special 3-course menu.  Highlights include Chef Craig Hastings' “Maple” Salad with duck confit, Goat Cheese and Chive Raviolis, and mouthwatering Cappucino Semifreddo.  The menu is priced at $55 and includes a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.

Stop by Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station for Valentine’s Day and make your celebration of love a worthy one with a three-course meal, artfully created by Executive Chef Thomas Connolly. Guest may purchase the set dinner for $45 and, for an additional $20, add on optional beer pairings from Craft Beer Ambassador and Cicerone Certified “Dr.” Bill Sysak. At South Park’s charming neighborhood restaurant, Alchemy, Executive Chef Ricardo Heredia has crafted an inventive menu for guests to enjoy this Valentine’s Day.  From a Sweet Potato Bisque to Moroccan Duck and Dover Sole, there’s something to satisfy all taste buds.  And since no meal is complete without dessert, Chef Heredia has several to choose from including a decadent Nutella Panna Cotta or flavorful Pomegranate Sorbet.  The chef’s 4-course menu is priced at $65, excluding tax and gratuity.

They say money can’t buy love, but a Prepkitchen reservation certainly won’t hurt this Valentine’s Day. Whether it’s an intimate dinner date or a fun group outing, Prepkitchen has your readers covered at all three locations with a $35 menu that allows them to choose any three items (starter, entree, dessert) from the dinner menu.  Whether it’s the House made Gnocchi with pork sausage ragu or the always-popular Warm White Bean and Arugula Salad, there’s a little something for everyone.

Let Whisknladle play Cupid this Valentine’s Day.  The award-winning La Jolla restaurant will capture the heart of your readers by allowing them to take advantage of a special 3-course $45 menu that lets them select any three items from the dinner menu (starter, entree, dessert).  From the signature Whisknladle Burger to the Charred Bone Marrow, the menu appeals to everyone from the basic to most adventurous eater.

Roppongi Restaurant & Sushi Bar will offer a delicious prix-fixe meal for Valentine’s Day from Friday, Feb. 14, through Sunday, Feb. 16. The three-course meal, priced at $60 per person, begins with an appetizer or soup course. Diners can choose between the refreshing Hamachi Crudo, complimented with refreshing flavors of blood orange, serrano, and micro cilantro or a rich Caramelized Onion Soup, made with short ribs, crispy leeks, and vanilla. For the entree, guests will be able to enjoy either the Miso Black Cod, complimented by green tea soba noodles, stir fry vegetable medley and ginger dash broth or the Prime Flat Iron Steak, accompanied by chipotle mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. For the dessert course, patrons can indulge in Dark Chocolate Mousse and Tiramisu, served with macadamia nuts, champagne sorbet and topped with raspberries. Each menu item offers a wine pairing, offered at an additional $22 per person, to enhance the dining experience.

Seafood is Pacifica Del Mar’s passion, so it is no surprise they are stoking the fires with a variety of fresh options from Executive Chef Stephanie O’Mary-Berwald for Valentine’s Day. Starters like Sea Scallop Crudo with Thai chile, gingered citrus and shiso oil mesh with entrees like Grilled Swordfish with cauliflower, chickpeas and fennel-saffron compote. In addition to the al a carte menu, Pacifica will also offer wine and champagne specials for the evening.

At Cusp Dining & Drinks, Chef Donald Lockhart’s four-course culinary knockout is his version of love on a plate. Dishes include Yukon Gold Potato and Chive Soup with toasted hazelnuts and a poached hen egg and Ginger Citrus Halibut with rock shrimp gnocchi and tarragon Dijon béarnaise. The meal is completed with three special desserts: Coconut Limoncello Ice Cream Cake, Passion Fruit and Charred Pineapple Fool and a Tangerine Mexican Chocolate Terrine. The dessert trio will also be available by itself for $10 in the bar for guests who want something sweet to go with the incredible view voted one of the best in the country by OpenTable. Cusp’s prix fixe is $65 per person.

Spike Africa’s Chef Paul Rinaudo’s Valentine’s Day menu is a four-course whirlwind romance of dishes like Warm and Sexy Oysters with pancetta, arugula, gruyere and truffle butter, Exotic Mushroom Ravioli in cognac sauce with fried sage and Roasted Swordfish Prime Rib for Two. End the meal with fresh Donut Holes with whipped cream, salted caramel and cassis jelly to dip and share. Spike’s dinner is $44 per person and available both Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15.

Commit to a long term relationship with one the best Japanese fusion restaurant in town. Fall in love with RA Sushi Bar Restaurant's three-course dinner for two for $30. Because you can never have too much of a good thing, RA will offer their Valentine’s Day menu from Friday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 16. 

Come celebrate romance, bromance or your love affair with beer with Waypoint Public’s “Sharing is Caring” Valentine’s Day beer dinner. Waypoint’s dynamic duo, Executive Chef, Amanda Baumgarten, and resident beer nerd, Brian Jensen, have put together a delightful family-style, four-course prix fixe menu. For $45 per person, add an additional $15 for beer pairings, reservations (be it for two, three, four or more!) can enjoy a perfectly paired Valentine’s Day dinner without the mushy hype and hoopla – just great beer, great food and great company.

On Feb. 14 between 4:30-9:30pm, Mille Fleurs will offer a three-course Valentine's Day dinner priced at $95 per person  and created by Chef de Cuisine Martin Woesle, who led the restaurant toward being selected as one of the Top 100 Restaurants in the Nation in 2013 (source: OpenTable). The Victorian-era island hideaway (technically, a peninsula) of Coronado offers  "mainland" locals one of the quickest transitions from urban grit to pure coastal charm. The award-winning Spa Gregorie’s is joining forces with CUCINA enoteca, the newly opened modern Italian kitchen from renowned local restaurateur Tracy Borkum, to offer an exclusive and romantic Del Mar date night idea---the “Spa Date for Two”. Del Mar’s Sea & Smoke, North’s Park’s Urban Solace and Solace & the Moonlight Lounge of Encinitas will offer a prix fixe menu and drink specials over three days in celebration of Valentine’s Day, Thursday, Feb. 13 through Saturday, Feb. 15. As is always the case at his restaurants, Chef Matt Gordon will offer a menu comprised of carefully selected, completely natural foods and cocktails. The three-course prix fixe menu will consist of such items as an amuse-bouche of Dungeness crab on buttered brioche with a lemon-cucumber crème fraîche and smoked trout roe; a decadent lobster bisque with parmesan crouton and nutmeg; spiced cocoa rubbed beef tenderloin with confit potato and asparagus; and ginger crème brûlée with candied citrus. The Cosmopolitan Restaurant and Hotel in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park will feature a special prix fixe menu for Valentine’s Day from Thursday, Feb. 13 to Saturday, Feb. 15, beginning at 4pm. Couples are invited to spend the most romantic night of the year getting cozy at The Cosmo where they can enjoy a romantic ambiance and indulge in a three-course meal choosing from shared appetizers such as mini crab cakes served with a Creole aioli, shredded beef brochettes topped with goat cheese and chimichurri sauce, or surf-and-turf kebobs with shrimp and beef tenderloin. Featured entrees will include chicken paperdalle in an exotic mushroom cream sauce, grilled salmon served with mashed potatoes, lamb meatballs tossed with mixed vegetables and gnocchi, or pork loin filet served with rosemary mashed potatoes, a vegetable medley and a cognac cream sauce. The three-course meal is $29.95 per couple. 

Cafe Coyote will keep the fire of love burning through Sunday, February 16.  Amor will be in the air when you treat your darling to a special lobster dinner served with Mexican style rice, handmade tortillas, refried beans, drawn butter, and fresh salsa, your choice of soup, salad or an appetizer and a decadent dessert for only $36.95. If you are courting your new beau on a budget the three course dinner is only $20. The menu choices offered are surefire aphrodisiacs for some caliente lovin'. Everyone knows the key to your love's corazon is tequila so add the tequila pairing for $10 to either dinner option.
