Bacon & Barrels is headed to San Diego this May 30 - May 31 for a festival showcasing local chefs’ most imaginative recipes incorporating bacon, and the best artisan and craft barrel beverages such as bourbon, beer, wine, and scotch - with a portion of ticket sales going to benefit the Surfrider Foundation. The event includes over 140 food and libation booths with all-inclusive tastings from some of Santa Barbara’s hottest boutique wineries and unique, high-end small batch whiskey, scotch and tequila from local purveyors as well as live music from popular indie bands. There will also be a selection of craft beers to taste while enjoying a variety of inventive and unexpected bites from participating chefs, as well as a special dinner with Top Chef alum Brooke Williamson!
Bacon & Barrels was started in 2013 in Los Olivos, Santa Barbara’s wine country, and always attracts a sellout crowd as soon as tickets go on sale. Based on the success and popularity in the north, this upscale and fun food festival is headed south to San Diego for a 2-day event that brings together fresh recipes incorporating bacon with the best artisan and craft barrel beverages and live music.
The experience kicks off with an all bacon dinner prepared by Top Chef Alum and current star of MTV’s House of Food Brooke Williamson, and includes beer and bourbon pairings by “Dr. Bill” Sysak of Stone Brewing Co. The party continues on Saturday with a grand tasting festival featuring local chefs and mixologists preparing their best bacon and barrel-drink creations.
Enjoy exclusive craft beers from Stone Brewing Co., Firestone, and Figueroa Mountain Brewing; Santa Barbara Wineries including Casa Dumetz, Larner, Alta Maria, Qupe; artisan spirits providers such as Casta Negra, Cutlers and Ascendant, as well as culinary surprises from Celebrity Chef Brooke Williamson and San Diego's best chefs and restaurants. Live music will hit the main stage from indie favorites The Stone Foxes and Black Crystal Wolf Kids.
Tickets to the Bacon & Barrels festival are $75 for General Admission, $25 for Designated Driver Admission, $95 for Early General Admission (enter at 12pm) and $300 V.I.P. (Very Important Pig - which is the only way to get access to the Friday night dinner and to a special festival lounge with exclusive tastings available). Tickets can be purchased online at BaconandBarrels.com. All food and drink tastings are included in the ticket prices.
Bacon & Barrels will take place at the Embarcadero Marina Park South, located at 1 Marina Park Way in Downtown SD. For more information, visit BaconandBarrels.com.
