September 26, 2014

The annual Del Mar Taste & Art Stroll returns to the heart of the charming Del Mar Village on Sunday, October 5, from 10am to 5pm. Presented by the Del Mar Village Association and the City of Del Mar, this family-fun event includes a free art stroll with original artwork from local and regional juried artists, a ticketed restaurant tasting tour, live music, beer and wine “sip stops” and a dog stroll area for man’s best friend. We're giving away 2 tickets to the tasting event, including passes to indulge at the Sip Stops (only if winner is over 21). Read on and enter for a chance to win.

The event opens with the free Art Stroll along Camino Del Mar, where guests can view and purchase original works by local and regional artists and craftsmen. Guests are invited to walk leisurely through a world of paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry and ceramics, stopping to interact with the artists and art enthusiasts at each booth.

From 12 to 3pm, the event’s creative focus shifts to the culinary arts and talents of Del Mar’s top chefs. More than 22 of Del Mar’s most highly regarded restaurants will offer ticketed Taste participants samples and bites of their signature dishes. Participating restaurants include Pacifica Del Mar, Jake’s Del Mar, KITCHEN 1540, SHIMBASHI Izakaya, Prepkitchen and many more. Taste participants can also cast their vote for the “Tastiest Taste” and enter a drawing to win fabulous prizes. Taste Tickets are $25 before the event and $30 on event day.  Guests can also sample a variety of local libations at one of the event’s new “Sip Stops.” For just an additional $10, guests can swing by any sip stop and sample 8 or more tasters of wine and local craft beer.

Throughout the day, free live music and entertainment will set the tone across the Del Mar Village. Stages set up along Camino Del Mar and at various venues, including L'Auberge Amphitheater and the Del Mar Plaza, will host some of San Diego’s best jazz, folk, rock and cover bands.

The Taste & Art Stroll encourages guests to bring along their pets for some four-legged fun at the event’s K9 Corner. The area invites dogs and pups of all sizes to promenade through Del Mar Village, sampling unique dog tastes, specialty pet products and services.

The Del Mar Taste & Art Stroll is a free public event, except for the ticketed restaurant tastings and Sip Stops. Sip Stop guests must be 21 years of age or older. Complimentary public parking is available at the Del Mar Shores/Winston School located at 215 9th Street. Valet parking with a drop-off location in the heart of the Del Mar Village is available at 1335 Camino Del Mar.
