Opening at 910 J Street in San Diego's East Village on Tuesday, October 14, is Sol Cal Café - San Diego’s first vegan market café and juicery with a built-in naturopathic doctors office. Created by former NFL great, Jacob Bell, and Food Network’s celebrity chef, Anne Thorton, Sol Cal will serve fresh cold-pressed organic juice, single source organic coffee, teas and elixirs, a full menu of grab-n-go salads, sandwiches, soups, tacos, wraps and vegan-ly delicious ice cream and desserts.
“When I played in the NFL and ate super healthy for a living, I was lucky to have a private chef and always wanted to provide the same quality food for the public,” says founder and former NFL player Jacob Bell.
That’s why Bell teamed up with celebrity chef Anne Thorton. Chef Anne’s delicious, healthy food she once made exclusively for celebrity clients, is now available to everyone. Everything on the menu is pressed, squeezed, ground, pureed, mixed, chopped and churned in-house and made with 100% certified organic, GMO-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan and unrefined ingredients.
“We started Sol Cal to give people the healthiest possible food at a good price in a convenient way, because we all deserve better options,” explained Bell.
Sol Cal also has a built-in doctors office for those seeking to pursue natural remedies rather than resorting to drugs and prescriptions. Naturopathic doctor, Aliza Cicerone, will be on-staff to offer holistic healing treatments daily, and general manager, Thomas McCann, is on the team as an expert in Integrated Nutrition.
