For the fifth year in a row, the East Village Association celebrates the start of baseball season as the San Diego Padres open the gates of Petco Park to host the San Francisco Giants for the first game of the season on Thursday, April 9! This free, family-friendly, Opening Day Block Party will be the ultimate tailgating scene on J Street between 6th and 10th Avenues from 10am to 7pm, offering live entertainment, a craft beer garden and cocktail lounge, food selections from local restaurants and food trucks , and much more.
Show your team pride and “root, root, root for the home team” at San Diego's kick-off party to Padres' 2015 season, featuring live entertainment from local bands and DJ’s; a thirst-quenching, micro-brew, beer garden between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue featuring Mission Brewery and Stone Brewery; specialty baseball-themed cocktails from 619 Vodka; a great food selection from delicious local restaurants and fantastic food trucks between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue; and even a country block between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue.
Local FM radio station, The Mighty 1090 will be broadcasting LIVE from the Block Party, with plenty of interactive games and more. All proceeds from block party sponsorships and exhibitors will benefit the non-profit East Village Association, Inc. whose mission is to support and promote East Village businesses by establishing the community as San Diego’s livable urban village.
