Fiesta Old Town Cinco De Mayo Returns On May 2-3 | 32 Years Of Tradition Packed In One Weekend

Each year thousands flock to Old Town, San Diego’s oldest, historic neighborhood, to take a step back in time and celebrate! The 2015 Dos XX Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo will be celebrating 32 years of tradition packed with activities for all ages as the Old Town neighborhood is transformed into the largest Cinco de Mayo celebration north of the border, filled with mariachis, cervezas, great food, and more. This free family-friendly festival takes place on Saturday, May 2, from 11am to 10pm, and Sunday, May 3, from 11am to 5pm.

The Fiesta will feature three stages with live entertainment, with over 40 bands, consisting of Latin rock, pop, salsa, soul, jazz and contemporary styles of music. Expect incredible performances from the Navy Dixie Band, Sure Fire Soul Ensemble, Euphoria Brass Band, numerous talented DJs and mariachis, and so many more! Make your way to the main stage to see Folklórico performers dance their way to the top in the 6th Annual Fiesta De Reyes Folklórico Competition. Folklórico is a traditional Latin American dance that emphasizes local folk culture with ballet characteristics, and talented dancers from all over Southern California will showcase their skills for all to see!

Between the music, feed your curiosity and love for history by exploring the museums, specialty shops and the lively streets of the bustling Mercado where attendees can purchase an array of merchandise -from handmade leather pieces, to beautiful jewelry and many more treasures. With free activities for the children, such as stagecoach rides, face painting, equestrian performances, arts and crafts, interactive educational elements, and so much more, the little ones will have no interest in a siesta at this fiesta!

Feed your appetite by feasting at over 15 delicious restaurants and tequilerias to enjoy the flavors of the celebration. Dos XX Cantina Garden will offer ice cold beer and refreshing margaritas, as well as Kimo Sabe, a premium family-crafted artisan Mezcal, imported from the rich soils of Oaxaca, Mexico. There will also be offerings from Frida Kahlo, Tres Generaciones, Herradura, Cointreau and more.
