On Sunday, May 31, from 12-5pm, over two dozen top San Diego bartenders will be coming together to mix up their own renditions of the Latin American classic cocktail for the Margarita Month Grand Tasting Event. You know what they say; life should be taken with a grain of salt… a slice of lime... and a healthy dose of tequila. Now you don’t have to cross the border to follow these words of wisdom! The month of May has been dubbed San Diego’s “Margarita Month” and bars and restaurants across San Diego are competing to make the city’s best margarita. Everyone is invited to partake in all of the festivities!

Participating margarita makers include The Rabbit Hole, Ciro's, Wonderland, Funky Garcia's, Lumberyard Tavern, Indigo Grill, Oceana Coastal Kitchen, The Reef at Mariscos El Puplo, The Deck at Moonshine Flats, Casa Sol Y Mar, Bootlegger, Puesto, El Callejon, PB Shore Club, Tavern, Florent, Don Chido, The Duck Dive, Prado at Balboa Park, The Local, Casa Guadalajara, The Blind Burro, Sandbar, Casa de Bandini, True North, Fat Fish Cantinagrill and more! 

Event goers will not only get a chance to taste all 28 participating restaurants’ margaritas, but also vote for their favorite and ultimately crown a winner for the San Diego’s Best Margarita Award. Pre-sale tickets are currently $30, and will go up to $40 on the day of the event. Tickets include mini margaritas from participating competitors, a headlining performance by Vokab Kompany, Mexican munchies and a whole lot of fun! Amidst all the tequila drinking during the month of May, San Diegans also have the chance to win $1,000 in gift certificates. Enter the contest by ordering the Margarita Month margaritas from participating venues, posting a picture to Instagram, and hashtagging #margaritamonth and the venue’s name (ex. #TrueNorthTavern). Those who do not have social media can also view and vote for their favorite margaritas and enter their chance to win online.
