As a salute to 19 years, current World Beer Cup Mid-Sized Brewery Champion Coronado Brewing Company is delivering a big, tropical double IPA suitable for hopheads and casual drinkers alike. The company will also toast to another banner year with a 19th anniversary party to be held on August 8 at the company's tasting room on Knoxville Street in San Diego's Bay Park neighborhood. In 1996, when craft beer was still a foreign term and San Diego County was home to only a handful of breweries, the Chapman brothers Ron and Rick opened a brewpub in their hometown of Coronado to brew abundantly hoppy West Coast-style ales staying true to their San Diego roots. Now you can find Coronado beers in 20 states across the US and nine countries. In addition to their long established pub in Coronado, the company opened a tasting room inside their newly built San Diego production facility in early 2013 and a new tasting room and restaurant in Imperial Beach in 2014. They also won the 2014 Champion Mid Size Brewery and Brewmaster at the World Beer Cup in Denver, one of the most prestigious distinctions in the craft beer industry.

Come celebrate 19 years of brewing with the Coronado Brewing team on Saturday, August 8 at the Bay Park tasting room. Tickets are available for $10 and include a pint of the 19th Anniversary Double IPA, a commemorative anniversary glass to take home and entry into the event with live music.
