On Wednesday, August 26, from 5-9pm, diners dressed in white will take over the ocean front gardens of Rosarito Beach Hotel for a Baja-style culinary celebration. Sponsored by popular Rosarito supper club Mi Casa Supper Club, Sabor de Baja is an annual “end of summer,” all-white attire event that features a culinary competition among Baja’s top chefs, a tasting of a variety of Baja delicacies, as well as an array of the finest Mexican wines and area craft beer.
Participating chefs competing and offering tastes at this year's Sabor de Baja include Diego Hernandez, whose restaurant Corazon de Tierra in Valle de Guadalupe was named one of the 50 best restaurants in the world; Javier Plascencia, who recently opened Bracero Cocina de Raiz in San Diego's Little Italy to add to his plethora of restaurants; Martin San Roman, executive chef of Dobson's in Downtown San Diego and La Terrasse San Roman Restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe - and many more!
Tickets to Sabor de Baja are $65US and include tasting of dishes, wines and beer, as well as a commemorative wine glass. Limited packages are being offered for $199US and include two tickets to the event, one night stay at the new tower at Rosarito Beach Hotel and complimentary parking.
