The Ramona-based ChuckAlek Independent Brewers has announced that the German-style brewery will open a tasting room and beer garden at 3139 University Avenue in North Park - adjacent to the new concept, Tostadas, from the owners of City Tacos. ChuckAlek is named after the owners grandfathers and opened its original location in January 2013.
Marta Jankowska and her husband and head brewery Grant Fraley own and operate ChuckAlek Independent Brewers. The new location will be curated by Lynn Susholtz, owner of neighboring Art Produce Gallery. Although the tasting room and beer garden will not serve food, they will allow people to bring in their own and will likely form some type of partnership with neighboring eateries, including the new Tostadas, which City Tacos owner Gerry Torres will open at the former Swoon Dessert Bar space as early as this week.
ChuckAlek Brewery Tasting Room & Biergarten is anticipated to open in North Park this fall.
