For all the others who run just so that they can eat and drink more - the country's most delicious 5k returns to San Diego this November 6-8. Don't miss Cooking Light & Health’s The Fit Foodie 5K Race Weekend when it takes over the Embarcadero Marina Park South in Downtown San Diego for its third year. The race weekend features delicious tastings, cooking and fitness demonstrations, and a Tracy Anderson Method course followed by a Sunday Funday inspired brunch. We are raffling off 2 tickets to the 5k and Finishers' Village on Saturday, November 7, and also offering promo code SDVILLE for 50% savings on registration to the race and its afterparty.
“The three-day food and fitness focused event proves that a fit and healthy lifestyle can co-exist with a love for great epicurean experiences. Throughout the weekend, earn and burn those calories by way of indulgent tastings and interactive fitness classes,” says race producer Michelle Metter of Fast Forward Events.
The weekend kicks off on the evening of Friday, November 6 at the pre-race VIP Party with special giveaways, opportunities to mix and mingle with Editors of Cooking Light and Health, and indulgent bites and sips from local culinary superstars.
On Saturday, November 7, get the blood pumping with a group stretch and dance party warm-up before hitting the pavement for a scenic 5K race along the San Diego Bay. The Fit Foodie experience doesn’t end at the finish line. After the race, enter the Fit Foodie Finisher’s Village Celebration and be greeted with unlimited food and beverage samples, as well as fitness and culinary demonstrations from acclaimed professionals. Get behind the wheel, and test-drive some of the latest Lexus cars in the Lexus Ride and Drive experience. Registration for the race and afterparty is $55 per person, but promo code SDVILLE saves 50% per person!
During the celebration, watch Cooking Light Executive Chef Anna Bullett take the culinary stage to provide a cooking demonstration filled with delicious bites (both healthy and indulgent), say “cheers” with a glass of vino in the Fit Foodie Wine Garden, and get the heart pumping with mini fitness classes that crush any calories consumed throughout the weekend. When it’s all said and done, take home a swag bag overflowing with healthy snacks, workout accoutrements and more!
The Fit Foodie weekend concludes on Sunday, November 8 with a Sunday Sweat Session and Brunch presented by Fabletics. The Sunday workout is led by Tracy Anderson Method certified and trained instructor, Stacey McDermott. This challenging 60-minute mat-based workout involving arms, abs, and legs, activates a full spectrum of major and minor accessory muscles. All levels are welcome. After the morning workout, treat your inner food with a delicious Cooking Light & Health inspired brunch, and celebrate to a successful Fit Foodie weekend.
