Sea & Smoke Closes In Del Mar | Company Behind True Food Kitchen Purchases Space For Healthy Concept

January 10, 2016

After nearly two and a half years in Del Mar's Flower Hill Promenade, Chef Matt Gordon has sold Sea & Smoke. The longtime local restaurateur, who also owns North Park's Urban Solace and Solace & The Moonlight Lounge in Encinitas, made the announcement on the restaurant's Facebook page earlier today and closed the doors to the restaurant after Sunday brunch service. The space will be taken over by Fox Restaurant Concepts, which owns True Food Kitchen, for the opening of Flower Child.

Since the announcement of Sea & Smoke's closure, all the restaurant's social media and the website have been taken down. Flower Child, which has three locations in Arizona, will be taking over the space located at 2690 Via De La Valle, #D210. It will be a fast-casual eatery offering a health-centric menu and is set to open in late 2016 after a complete overhaul of the space.
Fans of the Sea & Smoke can still enjoy Chef Matt's delicious and soulful eats at one of his other two restaurants in the San Diego area.
