There is already a new tenant at 1263 University Avenue in Hillcrest in the seemingly-doomed building that most recently housed the newly shuttered Tabletop Commons. The location will soon receive a renovation to transform the space into Bull & Grain - "an American style bar and grill" - set to open as early as mid-September.
Owned by Simon Wolujewicz and having an opening date set for Sept 18, Bull & Grain will receive a complete remodel once the owners get access to the building on July 20. Bull & Grain is described as "a great place to meet friends, enjoy a delicious cocktail and suppress your cravings for a flavorful meal." The restaurant is currently in search of an Executive Chef for an August start date.
1263 University Avenue has housed numerous tenants over the last few years, as it appears to be a very difficult space to succeed in. Most recently, the building was the site of the boardgame-centric Tabletop Commons, which closed in early July after only a little more than a year in business. Prior to that, the location housed Commonwealth Ultra Lounge, which also did not make it to the 2 year mark.
