Lil' Farmers Cafe To Open In Pacific Beach | Daphne Greek-Founder Focuses On Farm Fresh Fast Casual With Second Location

March 16, 2017

Lil' Farmers Cafe, which opened its first location in San Diego's Kearny Mesa neighborhood in 2015, has targeted the former-Which Wich space at 1001 Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach for a second outpost, anticipated to open by this summer. The fast-casual eatery comes from the founder of Daphne's Greek Cafe.

Owner George Katakalidis is also the founder of Daphne's California Greek Cafe, a former professional soccer player, and owns Taverna Blu in Del Mar. Katakalidis founded Daphne’s in 1991 in San Diego while nursing a soccer injury from his days playing on the San Diego Sockers and grew the brand to more than 90 locations at its peak. After more than 30 years in the restaurant industry, Katakalidis opened his first Lil' Farmers Cafe location at 4240 Kearny Mesa Road in Kearny Mesa in the summer of 2015.

Lil' Farmers is a fast-casual eatery that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The healthy restaurant serves an eclectic menu, including variety of coffee and tea concoctions, smooties, organic juices, acai bowls, bagels, salads, quinoa bowls, wraps, sandwiches, panini, and flatbreads. The Pacific Beach location is currently receiving a redesign and is expected to open by June.
