Playful & Healthy Cafe To Open At New Children's Museum In Downtown San Diego

May 7, 2017

The New Children’s Museum will introduce a nationally-recognized café concept to downtown San Diego. Bean Sprouts will open its 9th national location, offering kids and families a chance to participate in a playful eating experience with a menu of healthier choices that are fun to eat for children and adults alike.

The founders of Bean Sprouts, Shannon Seip and Kelly Parthen, got their start co-authoring the award-winning book Bean Appetit: Hip and Healthy Ways to Have Fun with Food, which features recipes and tips to make mealtimes and food prep more fun for families. The book has been featured in nearly every national parenting magazine as well as Good Morning America and Today Show. They’ve shared their playful and innovative approach at the White House and with many major media outlets, and Shannon and Kelly are also regular speakers at industry and mom-focused conferences nationwide.

Bean Sprouts’ children’s menu - with items like Crocamole and Do-Re-For-Me - empowers kids to make their own healthy choices, and grown-ups are delighted with equally tempting adult choices. The café menu presents a variety of choices for families with picky eaters, allergies and other dietary challenges. Bean Sprouts adheres to strict ingredient guidelines and features organic and sustainable foods, compostable packaging and eco-friendly design.

Bean Sprouts opens within The New Children's Museum, located at 200 W. Island Avenue in the San Diego's downtown Marina District on May 10. For more information, visit beansprouts.com and check out the menus below.
