Popular San Diego Vietnamese restaurant chain Pho Ca Dao - which currently operates locations in Mira Mesa, Rolando, Santee, and Rancho Bernardo - is in the process of expanding to Poway and Chula Vista.
Founded in Mira Mesa in 2001, Phở Ca Dao is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant that currently has 4 locations throughout San Diego, all with mostly positive online reviews. The no-frills restaurant chain has amassed a loyal following through it's consistently executed and lengthy menu of pho noodle soups, broken rice, vermicelli noodle bowls, fried rice, spring rolls, vegetarian dishes, bahn mi sandwiches and other Vietnamese comfort dishes. The name "Ca Dao," which means folk songs in Vietnamese, is intended to be representative of a cultural tradition that’s meant to be passed down from one generation to the next - similar to phở recipes.
The fifth Pho Ca Dao is currently under development at the former Domenic's Italian Ristorante in the standalone building at 12719 Poway Road in Poway and is expected to open in the next month or so. After Poway debuts, the company will turn their attention to the Chula Vista outpost, moving into the 3,840 square-foot restaurant at 303 Broadway in Chula Vista that is currently operating as Cali Baguette & Pho, set to unveil in early 2018.
