After Closing Its Original Location Late Last Year, Hacienda De Vega Revives In Encinitas

March 8, 2018

Nearly half a year after Hacienda de Vega was forced from its original space in Escondido, the family run restaurants has found a new home, taking over the location that last housed Bentley's Steak & Chop House on the border of Encinitas and Rancho Sante Fe.
Owned by Alonso Vega-Albela and family, Hacienda de Vega operated at 2608 S. Escondido Boulevard for 15 years before lease negotiations fell through and the restaurant was forced to close in late 2017. Vega-Albela also opened another outpost of his namesake restaurant in Carlsbad in late 2014 that remains in operation.

Five months after Hacienda de Vega closed its doors to the original Escondido restaurant, Vega-Albela has reopened in the 4,200 square-foot renovated space that was previously occupied by Bentley’s Steak & Chop House, which closed in December so that its owner could retire. Located within Rancho Santa Fe Plaza retail center, the interior was gutted and redesigned with all new furnishings, a new wood floor, Mexican-style decor, faux trees, and a dining room fountain to replicate the large outdoor fountain at the restaurant's previous space. The new Hacienda de Vega also boasts a private dining room with a communal table and a full bar, offering a food menu of Mexico City cuisine.

Hacienda de Vega is now open at 1621 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road in the Encinitas/Rancho Sante Fe area of San Diego, operating from 11am to close daily with brunch service from 10am-2pm on Sundays. For more information, visit haciendadevega.com.
