Vegan Cinnamon Bun Bakery Cinnaholic Shutters Last San Diego Location

May 22, 2018

Vegan cinnamon bun bakery Cinnaholic - which was springboarded into the national spotlight after an appearance on ABC's hit television program Shark Tank - has announced that it has closed its last remaining San Diego location.

Founded in Berkeley, California in 2009 by Shannon Michelle and Florian Radke, Cinnaholic is a vegan bakery chain that offers an ever-changing array of customizable cinnamon rolls. The company's owners appeared on ABC's entrepreneur-focused television show Shark Tank in 2014, which ended with them ultimately turning down a $200,000 investment offer from Robert Herjavec. The company subsequently adopted a franchise business model with plans to open 100 locations by 2020.

In 2016, Cinnaholic opened kiosks in San Diego's Westfield Mission Valley and Westfield North County malls, as well as a full brick and mortar eatery in Pacific Beach. The North County branch closed late last year, with the Mission Valley branch shuttering in early 2018. The company took to Facebook today to announce that the Pacific Beach outpost was no longer in business.
