Superfood Bowls & Smoothie Concept To Take Over San Diego | Everbowl To Expand Big In America's Finest City

June 30, 2018

First opened in Poway in 2016, Everbowl is a superfood bowl and smoothie shop that now has 10 locations, with a rumored 10 more planned for 2018. Rumored to be financially backed by Cohn Restaurant Group founder David Cohn. Everbowl will soon open outposts to Encinitas, Menifee, Mission Valley, San Elijo Hills, SDSU and Carmel Valley.

Everbowl is a fast-casual, healthy food eatery featuring a streamlined counter-service menu of build-your-own acai and other "craft superfood" bowls and smoothies. Founded by assionate healthy lifestyle advocate and San Diego serial entrepreneur Jeff Fenster, Everbowl started as a singular operation in San Diego's Poway community in October 2016 but now has ten locations around San Diego and Riverside counties, primarily in suburban pockets and shopping centers. This summer, Everbowl will open six new locations and plans to operate upwards of 20 outposts by the end of 2018, with no plans to slow down expansion. Rumors are swirling that the expansion is being fueled by an investment by San Diego serial restarateur and Cohn Restaurant Group founder, David Cohn, who is also a silent partner in the recently opened Pioneer BBQ concept in Lake Murray.

Each Everbowl location offers a quick-serve menu of "craft superfoods" - fresh fruit-laden, layered parfaits that allow the consumer to choose from one of four superfood base options - acai, pitaya (dragon fruit), graviola (soursop) or acerola (Barbados cherry). Customers can choose the liquid which is blended into the base and select from an extensive list of fruit toppings to create a custom bowl with healthy "super stuff" add-ins such as spirulina and bee pollen. Each bowl is priced at $8, and includes unlimited ingredients. They also offer smoothies, as well as a focused menu of grab-and-go salads.

"As a parent and fitness enthusiast, I wanted to be on the right side of history when it comes to encouraging healthy eating habits," explained Fenster. "I decided to open Everbowl locations in multiple, high traffic areas to ensure that everyone has the ability to access superfoods, fresh fruits and vegetables in the hopes that consumers will integrate these foods into their everyday lives."

Everbowl's aggressive expansion plan is fueled by an in-house construction arm that facilitates the efficient opening of each location. Plans for the future include opening Everbowl locations even further outside of the region. Fenster envisions an eventual national footprint with a plan to open at least 2 new outposts per month through 2020.

Everbowl is currently operating in ten locations throughout San Diego and Riverside County including Poway, San Marcos, Rancho Penasquitos, Escondido, Bonita, Scripps Ranch, Temecula, Oceanside and Santee. The company currently employs over 275 people and each new store opened will create an additional 20 jobs. With ten locations, they currently sell over 50,000 bowls per month. The next location will open in Mission Valley this July, followed by Encinitas and SDSU later this Summer.
