San Diego's Intergalactic Brewing Announces Impending Closure

July 23, 2018

Has San Diego's craft beer industry become oversaturated? Miramar-based Intergalactic Brewing took to social media today to announce that after 5 years in business that the struggling craft brewery would be close at month's end.

Founded by esteemed home brewer Alex Van Horne in April 2013, Intergalactic Brewing had already announced that the Miramar brewery was struggling earlier this year, so its impending closure comes as no surprise. Previous plans for the brewery included relocating from the current brewery space within a business park on Carroll Centre Road into a smaller, 1,400 square-foot area next door and acquiring a Type 2 wine license to allow Intergalactic to begin producing ciders.

Intergalactic announced today that the tasting room and brewery would close on July 31. This is the second San Diego brewery closure revealed in the past week, as ChuckAlek Brewing also declared that it would soon be closing.
