East County's Popular Valley Farm Market To Open Grocery & BBQ-Centric Eatery In La Jolla

November 8, 2018

Spring Valley's more than 60-year-old Valley Farm Market will open a 5,000 square-foot outpost in La Jolla next year within a new mixed-use complex being built near Windansea beach.

Established in the San Diego East County community of Spring Valley in 1956 by Felix and Eleanor Marso, Valley Farm Market has been operated by the founders' four children over the years and is now managed by grandson, Derek Marso. The La Jolla location will sit at the corner of La Jolla Boulevard and Nautilus Street and house a butcher shop, grocery market, and barbecue-focused eatery. Expect prime cuts of organic meat and seafood for purchase, as well as ready-to-cook varieties. There will also be organic produce and a full market with specialty items and necessities, as well as ample beer and wine. From the prepared foods section, expect to see plenty of barbecue, including the company's famous brisket, tri-tip, pork shoulder, rotisserie chicken and side dishes.

Valley Farm Market is expected to open by summer 2019. For more information, visit valleyfarmmarkets.com.
